Boscombe Down and Amesbury Wargames Club (BDAWC) is an active, friendly, adult-focused gaming club playing a wide range of games from Antares to WWII, X-Wing to 40K, ultra-modern to Ancients, and board games. The club has strong links to RAF Boscombe Down and meets in the Nicolson Centre.
Members of the club can often be seen at shows around the South, where in 2016-2017 Tim Bancroft ran different Antares participation games for the club: indeed, our Antares game was awarded ‘Best in Show’ at Attack 2016! in Devizes and our Antares game also received a participation game award at Warfare 2017 in Reading. The club regularly wins awards for its well-crewed participation games where the emphasis is on fun.
Antares is a regular feature of the club, Warlord’s Tim Bancroft often playtesting new scenarios and supplements for Antares. We also run Antares friendly weekend events, whether bootcamps or just fun days where a host of different scenarios and terrain is on offer. Every faction has been seen on the table – including some who are not yet released! 🙂
Newcomers are always welcome and are frequently spoiled for choice with invitations to join in with games.
Meets: Tuesdays, 18:30. Monthly Saturday games.
