During the isolation following the collapse of the Nexus at the end of the 6th age, the Isorians optimised their real-space, sub-light engines, developed the IMTel and explored star systems in reach. This led to their confrontation with the Tsan Kiri and a real-space war that lasted centuries. Part way through the war against the Tsan, Isor was reconnected with the Antarean Nexus and established the IMTel-based PanHuman Concord. Piggy-backing on top of the existing nanospheres, the IMTel spread rapidly around the equatorial regions of Antares with only the occasional set-back when faced with rifts (gaps in Antarean surface connectivity) or with civilisations who rejected the IMTel (such as the Algoryn Prosperate).
When the Isorian nanosphere was transformed by the Tsan Kiri conflict into a semi-organic, biosilicon matrix, the differences proved too great and the constant conflict between the Senatex and Concord began. This separation of the Isorian Shard from the PanHuman Concord is often known as ‘The Splintering’.
From the Collapse of the Trisapient Age
A more complete timelineis in the Universe Guide.
Year | Event |
---|---|
7A c.-3000 | 6th (Trisapient) Age ends with the Trisapient Catastrophe: the cascade collapse of gate system after several Vorl gates are destroyed by the Isorian Senatex, the NuXon Empire and the Human League/Alzanthan Federation |
7A -2800 | Advanced gravitic (space-time warping) drives developed by Isorians. They begin real space expansion to systems approximately 25 light years (ly) from Isor. Oblon (5ly) and Tsates (8ly) colonies established shortly thereafter. |
7A c.-2500 | Development of IMTel to maintain cohesiveness of Isorian worlds. |
7A -2000 | Five systems fully explored and settled, more distant colonies established. |
7A -30 | Isori loses first colony (Irel) to Tsan Kiri but as it is 25ly away, do not realise it for 25 years. |
7A -27 | Isori loses second colony (Orates) to Tsan Kiri (20ly from Isori). |
7A -22 | Isori loses third colony (Tsajhon) to Tsan Kiri (17ly from Isori). |
7A -15 to -5 | News of loss of outlying colonies reaches the core Isorian systems and older colonies, all of whom ramp up their defences. |
7A -10 to -5 | Devastating loss of fourth colony (Vahhn) only 15ly from Isori. The world is almost ruined by the war, however, as the defenders sacrifice everything they have to fight off the invaders. |
7A -7 | News of loss of Orates reaches Isori. A mystified Senatex despatches scout fleets. |
7A -5 | News of loss of Irel and Tsajhon make Isorians realise a foe – the Tsan Kiri aliens – are deliberately capturing their colonies. Incompatibilities, especially around nanite vs bio-spore, initiate the Tsan Real Space War |
7A 1 | Isor reconnected to the Antarean Nexus |
7A 3 to 5 | Tsates attacked but having already geared up for war, repulses invaders |
7A 15 | Details of Tsan Kiri biologically based nanites reach research facilities on Isori. Militarisation of Isorian economy and manufacturing. PanHuman Concord established. |
7A 20 | The IMTel spreads like wildfire across all nearby, newly connected Antarean-linked systems. |
7A 30 to 50 | PanHuman Concord reinforcements gather around Isor and sent to colonies. Growth of IMTel into Concord nanosphere in Antarean space feeds significant resources into Isorian system. |
7A 38 to 40 | Remains of Vahhn colony retaken from small Tsan Kiri occupational force. |
7A 72 to 84 | Tsates attacked again by major fleet. Invasion repulsed but with major losses. First infection of IMTel by Tsan Kiri interface spore. |
7A 75 | Scout ships to Irel find world totally taken over by Tsan – but do not report back to Isori for another 25 years. |
7A 84 | Reinforcements arrive at Tsates, Oblon and the other three original colonies. |
7A 100 | News of Irel’s absorption comes to Isori. The Tsan Kiri war enters a stalemate. The next 80 years see Isori work on attacking the Tsan through their major dependency: their bionanospore. |
7A 180 | Isorians go over onto offensive using merged Tsan-Isorian bio-silicon nanospore. Systems close to Isori on Antares and involved in the conflict slowly become overtaken by the new, combat-honed nanosphere. |
7A 190 | Irel selected for launch of counter-offensive. |
7A 194 | Isorian phase armour and bio-silicon interface suits developed. |
7A 215 | Irel retaken. Used as base to launch attacks on nearby colonies. Starmaps find location of Tsan homeworld and details returned to Isor (see 7A 240). |
7A 225 | Concord allies, materials and starships mass at Isori to create major invasion fleets |
7A 235 | Remaining colonies retaken (news of success will not reach Isor for 5-20 years). |
7A 240 | Location of Tsan homeworld reaches the Isor system IMTel; invasion fleet immediately launched. |
7A 250 | Tsan Kiri withdraw from remaining colonies – theirs and those formally Isorian. |
7A 280 | Invasion fleet arrives at Tsan Kiri homeworld to find there is no more opposition. The Tsan have disappeared, having devastated their homeworld completely. Whether a gate was discovered on another world is unknown. Even today, their whereabouts is a mystery. Nonetheless, a substantial military presence is established and most of the fleet returns to Isor. |
7A 280 to 340 | Isorian Senatex separation from PanHuman Concord: accumulation of irreconcilable changes in their hybrid bio-silicon nanospore diverges their IMTel and nanosphere too far from the Concord nanite baseline. |
7A c.300 | Intact Tsan hatchery discovered on Tsan colony, Djarn, ~21ly from Isor. First Tsan Ra born into Isorian IMTel society. |
7A 500 | Northern Interface settles along Praan – Forward line |
7A 700 | With expansion of gates, Averahn is key interface system. Exeth taken from Senatex by Concord. |
7A 782 | Averahn falls to Senatex. Shortly later, Exeth retaken. |
7A c.800 | Aan Shard schism in PanHuman Concord. |
7A c.900 to 1120 | Rapid expansion of gates into rift around Averahn from Senatex systems leads to capture of Felseron from Concord and, in 1120, Weleth falls to Senatex. |
7A c.1320 | The Xilos Horizon discovered and collapses – possibly by the use of Isorian technology. Effects ripple out through Antarean space. |
