Special thanks to Rick Priestley, Tim Bancroft, Richard Carlisle and others that made this compilation of Antares history possible.
November 7 2025 marks the 10 year anniversary of the release of the “Beyond The Gates Of Antares: Strike Vector One – The Xilos Horizon” boxed set.
The Xilos-Aversary posts commemorate this momentous occasion.
This is a bonus addition to the Xilos-Aversary, capturing all the weird and wonderful miscellaneous oddities that have inhabited the making of the Antarean Universe; along with a slight homage to Rick Priestley’s wild imagination from a much earlier time.

Dr Gostalo’s Amazing Inter-Galactic Psycho-Circus
Roll up, roll up…
Gasp in awe at the universe’s smallest support weapon.

I’d ordered the Freeborn Mag Light support weapon from Warlord (in 2017), and was most surprised to see the little weapon above. Warlord’s magnificent team sent a re-big-ulated version of the weapon without issue.
It is speculated that the person receiving the original sculpt to be turned into a mould had mistaken it for a 3-up and de-big-ulated it.
Howl in Anguish at the Algoryn buildings

During the playtesting and development of the original Antares rulebook, Rick Priestley had put together some Algoryn Buildings. He’d promised that at some point he would share how these had been made.
We’re still waiting.
Yes, it’s probably really easy, but I lack imagination and really want to know how they were created.
Bask in the delight that is “Selfie” Trooper

This special edition model was given out to people that attended Antares events. I understand this is not currently available anymore.
Also, this Strike Trooper is clearly using his hand-held scanner, but majority of social media refer to them as the “Selfie Trooper”.
Admire the most unique son of Borom.

Wojciech Fliz had sculpted the Boromite range (at least the infantry) and during the time that Warlords Of Erehwon was being created, someone asked the question “How would a fantasy Boromite look?”.
And now we all know (personally I love it).
Recoil in horror at a mystery of the missing table
For Salute 2016, Warlord Games and Sarissa Precision put together a couple of boards for demo games for Antares.

A third table had been put together by the Phat Kats (which looks magnificent).

But legend has it that there was a FOURTH table, all prepared but never built.
<spooky voice>And no-one knows where it is now, or whatever became of it. Ooooooooo. </spooky voice>
That’s a wrap
I hope you all enjoyed the history and oddities posts during the course of the Xilos-Aversary.
Let’s see what we can all add to the game as we move the narrative forward.
Until next time!!
